Let me ask you a question: What do you think of more when you want to venture into something new, a new challenge or a new goal? What are you more aware of, winning at it or failing? Are you more aware of failure than any other possibility, for example, succeeding or victory?
What we are more aware of creates our daily realities because we prioritize them as a possibility to show up in our life. That’s how powerful our mind is.
Now, the awareness of failure, loss, and even scarcity are realities we have had to deal with in our lives in one time or another. When we experience hardships, extreme circumstances, and deep loss, our awareness of these outcomes is heightened, triggering our survival state. When our survival instinct is activated, our primitive brain takes control, protecting us from the effect of pain. It protects us by hibernating and staying away from anything that could be potentially dangerous. This keeps us safe in adverse experiences but imprisons us long after the danger is gone.
For us to change the outcome of our lives, we must learn to move past the ‘survival brain state’ by creating an awareness of the opposite: plenty, certainty, sufficiency, and abundance.
